The Story Behind Common Thread Studio
Hi, I’m Krystal. Every order that comes through Common Thread Studio is made by me in my home studio in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Each order helps me grow this small business, and I’m so grateful you’re here!
The idea for this studio has been with me for over a decade. It started with a Fine Arts degree, two years in a textiles program, and years working in promotional apparel. A few detours, a pandemic layoff, and a new job with a growing small business helped me figure out the kind of owner I wanted to be.
The name comes from the idea that there’s a common thread running through all of us: the places we love, the people we miss, the drawings our kids make, and the communities we build. Some memories deserve more than a short life on the fridge, tucked away in a memory box, or lost in a camera roll. They deserve to be stitched to life.
That’s the work here, whether it’s your business logo on fifteen hoodies, your team’s name on a run of hats, or your grandmother’s handwriting stitched into fabric. It doesn’t matter if it’s a group order or one piece. It gets the same care because the little things matter.
Everything here is stitched with intention. That’s not just my slogan. It’s how I work.
So, if you’re a small business, a team, a group of friends, or someone with an idea you haven’t fully figured out yet, reach out. Bring what you have, and we’ll figure out the rest.
